Festivals build cohesiveness in a group and they educate, break the monopoly of routine and give chance to re-organize body, mind and spirits. Ganesh Chaturthi is one such Hindu festival. The festival marks the birth of beloved elephant headed Lord Ganesha - God of wisdom, prosperity and intelligence; of new beginnings and remover of obstacles.
Lord Ganesh, symbol of wisdom bestows his presence on earth during the festival and removes all obstacles. Lord Ganesh came back to life with the head of an elephant and hence is also called Gajanana, Gajadanta, and Vighnaharta.
Ganesh Chaturthi was celebrated with devotion at Fertilizernagar School for five days this year. Students and Teaching / Non- teaching staff of the entire school enjoyed it with enthusiasm. Ganesh idol made of natural clay was installed at FN School by devotees without disturbing the peaceful atmosphere of GSFC Township, decorations were carried out and regular aartis were performed each morning and evening by students and staff of school. Prasad was distributed daily after prayers. Final visarjan was carried out in an environmentally friendly manner by immersing the idol in a big container filled with water in the center of school premises.
