A brief description of Bhartiya Sanskriti Gyan Pariksha

Bhartiya Sanskriti Gyan Pariksha is not merely an examination but a process of upliftment and refinement of teachers and students. The programme is part of multifarious activities of Shantikunj, headquartered at Haridwar, an international spiritual organization known as All World Gayatri Pariwar created by the great ascetic Pt. SriRam Sharma Acharya. The process of Bhartiya Sanskriti Gyan Pariksha also includes activities such as Shikshak Garima Camps (for teachers), Youth Camps (for Students). Through these activities, the students and teachers are sensitized to some co-activities in schools/ colleges like plantation, cleaning of school, de-addiction campaigns etc. Workshops on character building, personality refinement, value based education etc. are also part of the program.

Why Bhartiya Sanskriti Gyan Pariksha?

“Education is the manifestation of perfection already in man.”

These words of Swami Vivekanand remind us that education is not just learning various subjects but also a process by which the learners can refine their talent and motivate themselves for a meaningful life.

An Oxford daily also observed,

“Though the Indian preacher has marvelous power to weave a magic web of thought, imagination and language; the real greatness of his sermon resides in some indefinable spiritual quality which arrests attention, moves the heart, and lifts us to an ampler air.”

By and large, our current education system today appears to have ignored its goal of holistic development of the students. Children are growing up without the stabilizing force and strength of totality. Moral values do not seem to appear in their wish list of success and happy future. India’s growing prosperity is attended with diverse national problems and socio-cultural conflicts, leaving her children with a growing sense of disappointment, anxiety, fear, confusion, and diminishing faith. Thus makes it vital to incomplete education rather than current education mode.

Following words of Dr S. Radhakrishnan make us realize that our education system is incomplete.

“In the last few decades the world has been transformed so rapidly and completely in its superficial aspects. Science helps us to build our outer life, but other discipline is necessary to strengthen and to refine the living spirit. Though, we have made enormous progress in knowledge and scientific inventions, we are not above the level of past generations in ethical and spiritual life. Our natures are becoming mechanized, void within, we are reduced to atoms in community, members of mob.”

Bharatiya Sanskriti Gyan Pariksha is an initiative to cultivate the zeal and love for learning with an aspiration of doing good for the society.
