GIRLS SAFETY AND MENSTRUATION HYGIENE 2023

A GIRLS' SAFETY AND MENSTRUATION HYGIENE AWARENESS PROGRAMME FROM THE SHE TEAM (CHHANI POLICE STATION) AT FERTILIZERNAGAR SCHOOL (ENGLISH PRIMARY SECTION)

For too many girls worldwide, their first period is a surprise. Without knowing what is happening to their body and why it is happening, menstruation can become a scary and confusing time. Also sometimes while travelling from home to school unpleasant incident occur. So for that what should girls do in emergency?

                The programme was conducted by the SHE TEAM from Chhani Police station for the girls of standard: 6,7 ,8  with the objective of spreading awareness and educating girls about menstruation and safety in lonely places.

                Teaching a girls about menstruation before she has her first period is the best way to make sure she knows what will happen, explain why she should not be scared and ensure she can keep coming to class. It’s also a great time to combat social taboos and false information about menstruation that can hurt a girl well-being.

                While most of the girls get their first periods at about 12 years old , some girls will start menstruation as young age at nine so it’s a good idea to start talking early about how your body changes as you grow up.  Also while at lonely places girls faces problems of harassments, at that time for protection SHE TEAM provide helpline No. 1098 for safety.

                The students understood the concept of health and hygiene during menstruation and availability of sanitary pads at pad Dispenser machine.
